Well this is not news Ohio State fans wanted to see. Star senior defensive lineman Adolphus Washington has been cited for first-degree misdemeanor charge of solicitation, according to FOX 28 in Columbus.
Washington was cited late Wednesday night by City of Columbus police and he is due to appear in court on December 17. As of now, Ohio State says it will handle discipline internally, and there has been no statement on what this means for Washington’s eligibility for the Fiesta Bowl against Notre Dame, if there is any impact at all. There has been no statement from Ohio State head coach Urban Meyer at this time.
Washington is Ohio State’s second-leading tackler with 49 tackles this season and is a player that poses a challenge for opposing offensive lines already having to focus energy on double-teaming Joey Bosa on the end. We will keep an eye on how this all plays out for Washington and Ohio State.
