Penn State adds SDSU to ’15 slate

With the 2013 and 2014 seasons yet to be played, Penn State has nearly completed its 2015 schedule of non-conference games already.

The school announced Tuesday that it has added a home game against San Diego State to its 2015 slate. The Nittany Lions will host the Aztecs on Sept. 26 of that year in Beaver Stadium.

That game will mark the first time ever the two programs have met in football.

The Nittany Lions had previously announced 2015 games at Temple (Sept. 5) and Buffalo (Sept. 12), meaning the program still have one opening on its 2015 non-conference schedule. In 2016, the Big Ten will go to nine conference games, meaning schools will play just three out-of-league games beginning that year.

That non-conference schedule for Penn State, oddly enough, is already completed -- at least for now -- as they have agreements in place to play Kent State (Sept. 3), at Pittsburgh (Sept. 10) and Temple (Sept. 17).
