  • NYM Shortstop #60
Mets placed INF Ronny Mauricio on the 60-day injured list.
The procedural move earlier this week opened up a spot on New York’s 40-man roster for reliever Shintaro Fujinami. The 22-year-old infielder is expected to be out for at least 6-8 months after undergoing surgery back in early January to repair a torn ACL in his right knee.
  • ATL Relief Pitcher #58
Braves optioned LHP Ray Kerr to Triple-A Gwinnett.
Kerr has made the trip from Gwinnett to Atlanta and vice versa a couple of times in 2024, and that is likely to continue through the campaign. He’s down to make room for Grant Holmes after Holmes had his contract selected from Gwinnett in the corresponding transaction.
  • TOR Shortstop #11
Bo Bichette (calf) is not in the lineup for Sunday’s tilt against the Guardians.
Bichette missed Saturday’s game due to tightness in his right calf, and the 26-year-old shortstop will be out at least one more game due to the trouble. Isiah Kiner-Falefa will get another start at shortstop while Ernie Clement handles the hot corner. Bichette is still considered day-to-day.
  • ATL Starting Pitcher #19
Braves recalled RHP Huascar Ynoa and placed him on the 60-day injured list with a right elbow stress reaction.
It’s a procedural move that takes Ynoa off the 40-man roster and gives Atlanta space to select the contract of Grant Holmes. Ynoa’s injury will keep him out through the All-Star break, and there’s a chance he won’t be able to help the staff until 2025.
  • ARI Center Fielder #7
Corbin Carroll hit two doubles while scoring twice in a loss to the White Sox on Saturday.
Carroll was one of the few hitters who had any success against Erick Fedde and the White Sox bullpen, and he scored the only two runs in the contest for the D-Backs. It’s nice to see some extra-base hits from the 23-year-old, as he had picked up just three of them this month prior to Saturday.
  • CWS First Baseman #25
Andrew Vaughn went 2-for-5 with a homer and three RBI Saturday in a win over the Diamondbacks.
It’s been a fantastic June for Vaughn, even with the White Sox playing at an absolutely abhorrent level. The 26-year-old hit a two-run blast off Bryce Jarvis in the fifth, and the first baseman drove in another run with a single two innings earlier. Vaughn ended May with a .577 OPS, and the current slash of .227/.283/.386 helps tell the story of how good he’s been since.
  • CWS Shortstop #50
Lenyn Sosa went 3-for-5 with a three-run homer to help the White Sox to a 9-2 victory over the Diamondbacks on Saturday.
Sosa nearly doubled the lead for the White Sox with a three-run homer to make it 7-2 in the seventh. The 24-year-old also doubled and singled. There have been some flashes for Sosa thus far in 2024 — albeit inconsistent ones — and the three-hit game improves his slash to .250/.291/.392. He remains much more a long-term option than a quality one for the remainder of this campaign.
  • ARI Relief Pitcher #30
Scott McGough allowed a run over 2 1/3 innings in a start against the White Sox on Saturday.
McGough was essentially an opener for a bullpen day, but he ended up going deeper than the arms behind him. The right-hander struck out two while issuing one walk. There’s a good chance McGough works in a similar capacity next week against the Phillies, but there’ll be no reason for fantasy consideration.
  • CWS Starting Pitcher #20
Erick Fedde went six innings while allowing two runs to get a win over the Diamondbacks on Saturday.
Fedde did allow eight hits, but he didn’t put anyone on via walk while striking out six. The right-hander gave up runs in the first and fifth inning and he was able to avoid the big inning for another strong outing for the 31-year-old. The White Sox have been a disaster, but Fedde has been an absolute bright spot with a 3.09 ERA through 87 1/3 innings. He’s scheduled to take on the Tigers on Friday.
  • LAD Starting Pitcher #18
Yoshinobu Yamamoto admitted after Saturday’s start that he felt tightness in his triceps earlier in the week as well.
Yamamoto also admitted that was the real reason why his start was pushed back from Thursday to Saturday. Interesting. He’ll presumably head for further evaluation to determine the severity of the injury, but don’t be surprised if it results in a trip to the injured list — as the Dodgers aren’t going to take any chances here. Be sure to watch his status closely over the next couple of days.
  • PIT Second Baseman #39
Nick Gonzales homered and drove home two runs in a loss to the Rockies on Saturday.
Gonzales tied the game at 1-1 with a solo homer off Ty Blach in the fourth frame. The former top prospect has been able to pick up five homers in his 117 at-bats, and that roundtripper along with an RBI on a fielder’s choice give him 25 on the year.
