7yBob Sowards has played 36 holes of the John Deere Classic in 7-under-par and is currently six strokes off the lead.

Sowards has been doing this year what many stuck in the bottom half to the reshuffle are forced to do - split time with the Nationwide Tour, where he’s started four times. In 10 events on the PGA Tour, he’s cashed four times, topped by a career-best T-45 at the Travelers. Sowards has drained an eagle and 11 birdies this week and will need to keep it up to establish a personal-best finish on tour.

7yBob Sowards carded a 4-under 68 in the opening round of the inaugural Puerto Rico Open.

The score matches his previous best round on the PGA Tour (2005 FUNAI). The 39-yeard old rookie earned his card at Q School and does not project to make a fantasy impact all year.

7yBob Sowards posted a bogey-free, 5-under par 67 in the opening round of the AT&T Classic.

Sowards was a clinic today, hitting 12 (of 14) fairways, 14 GIR and putting 27 times. The 67 is his career-low in 40 rounds played on the PGA Tour. Although today was nice, he is not recommended in any format.
