Kevin Silva was the medalist at the 36-hole U.S. Open sectional qualifier in Purchase, New York, finishing in 4-under-par 137.

Silva’s afternoon 67 at Century CC clinched his tee time at Bethpage next week. It will be his second appearance in the major (MC, 2008). Joining Silva and finishing at 3-under 138 are U.S. Open rookies Sean Farren, Trevor Murphy and Michael Welch. Notables that failed to qualify include Brad Faxon (140), Michael Allen (143), Andrew Giuliani (143), Scott Dunlap (144), Mathias Gronberg (145) and Walker Cup Captain, Buddy Marucci (158). Old Oaks CC hosted the other 18 today.
