Ryan Palmer fired a 10-under-par 62 on Sunday to capture the Funia Classic at the Walt Disney World Resort and in the process moved to No. 95 in this week’s Official World Golf Rankings.
Vijay Singh, who tied for second at Disney World, remained in first, while Ernie Els, who withdrew from this week’s Chrysler Championship in Tampa with a hand injury, stayed in second.
Tiger Woods did not play in his neighborhood last week because of his elongated honeymoon. He kept his third spot, followed by Masters champion Phil Mickelson and U.S. Open winner Retief Goosen.
Davis Love III, Mike Weir, Padraig Harrington, Stewart Cink and Sergio Garcia all held their rankings from last week.
Adam Scott kept the 11th spot this week, while Chris DiMarco jumped two places to 12th. Chad Campbell stayed in No. 13 for the second consecutive week, while Jim Furyk dropped two to 14th. Darren Clarke rounded out the top-15.
Miguel Angel Jimenez remained 16th in the rankings, while Kenny Perry and Stuart Appleby switched places from last week with the American coming in 17th and the Australian dipping to No. 18.
Reigning British Open winner Todd Hamilton and David Toms held their spots from last week.
