CONOVER, N.C. -- Five players are tied atop the leaderboard during Friday’s suspended first round of the Greater Hickory Classic at Rock Barn.
Inclement weather, which pushed tee times back almost three hours and forced the players to go off split tees in round one, stopped play for good.
The first round will resume at 9:00 a.m. ET Saturday with the second round scheduled to begin at 10:35 a.m.
The leaders were knotted at 4 under par, although some got in more of their opening round than others before the rain came.
Gil Morgan and Don Pooley are through 17 holes, Keith Fergus is on the 15th, John Bland is on 13 and Wayne Levi completed 10.
Dana Quigley, who leads the Charles Schwab Cup race, is at 3 under par through 16 holes. Dan Pohl, Graham Marsh, Vicente Fernandez, Tom McKnight and Lonnie Nielsen are also at 3 under and did not finish their first rounds.
Defending champion Doug Tewell owns the clubhouse lead at 2-under-par 70.
