Astros 3B prospect Marc Wik homered and drove in a career-high seven runs Saturday in a win for High-A Lancaster.
Wik’s career night included a grand slam and a bases-clearing triple. The grand slam was Wik’s first round-tripper in nearly a month. The 24-year-old had his season interrupted by a failed drug test that cost him 50 games and has only hit .247 in 81 at-bats since making his return. Hopefully Saturday’s outburst will give him the spark he needs to finish the year strong.

Astros 3B prospect Marc Wik was suspended 50 games without pay following a second positive test for a drug of abuse.
Wik can hardly be called a prospect, owning a .254/.369/.375 line over a minor league career that has yet to advance above High-A save for two games in 2014. The 23-year-old is hitting .234 with a .656 OPS at High-A Lancaster this season.

Astros 3B prospect Marc Wik went 4-for-4 with three runs scored while hitting for the cycle Tuesday for High-A Lancaster.
He’s the first JetHawk to hit for the cycle since Dan Gulbransen in June of 2014. Wik hadn’t gone deep in his previous 24 games prior to belting a solo blast in the third inning. The 22-year-old has been raking all year. His .459 on base percentage would lead the California League if he had enough at-bats to qualify.
