ALCS Game 5: Rangers lineup versus CC Sabathia

New York Yankees v Texas Rangers, Game 2

ARLINGTON, TX - OCTOBER 16: Manager Ron Washington of the Texas Rangers congratulates Nelson Cruz #17 after Cruz scored in the bottom of the fifth inning against the New York Yankees in Game Two of the ALCS during the 2010 MLB Playoffs at Rangers Ballpark in Arlington on October 16, 2010 in Arlington, Texas. Here’s the Rangers’ lineup for Game 5 of the ALCS this afternoon against CC Sabathia:

1. Elvis Andrus, SS
2. Michael Young, 3B
3. Josh Hamilton, CF
4. Vladimir Guerrero, DH
5. Nelson Cruz, LF
6. Ian Kinsler, 2B
7. Jeff Francoeur, RF
8. Matt Treanor, C
9. Mitch Moreland, 1B

The first seven spots are the Rangers’ standard postseason lineup versus lefties. Treanor is basically C.J. Wilson’s personal catcher, so he gets the nod behind the plate over last night’s hero, Bengie Molina. Ron Washington gave Jorge Cantu some playing time at first base against lefties early in the playoffs, but has more or less settled on rookie Mitch Moreland as the full-time starter versus both righties and lefties now.
