Tigers catcher Alex Avila, who has a history of concussions, is out of tonight’s lineup after experiencing “lightheadedness” Sunday following a foul tip to the mask.

Bryan Holaday is starting Avila’s place against the Twins, catching Max Scherzer.

Avila has suffered multiple concussions since last season and also missed time earlier this month after taking a foul tip off the mask. He had to be cleared of concussion-based symptoms before returning, but no seven-day disabled list was used due to September roster expansion.
