Ben Zobrist left Sunday’s game due to left knee soreness and Joe Stiglich of CSNBayArea.com reports that he’ll miss at least another couple of days after receiving a cortisone shot.

Zobrist said an MRI showed no ligament damage in the knee, but he does have cartilage issues. He won’t rule out the possibility of surgery if the knee doesn’t respond, but it would likely just be a cleanup procedure. He’s still hoping to avoid that, though. At the very least, he might change the way he slides to protect the knee.

Zobrist, who was acquired from the Rays in January, is batting .267 (12-for-45) with one home run, eight RBI, and a .764 OPS over his first 12 games this season.
