Clayton Kershaw will start Game 4 on short rest

Dodgers manager Don Mattingly just announced that Clayton Kershaw will start Game 4 of the NLCS on short rest rather than Dan Haren getting the assignment against the Cardinals.

Kershaw was cruising along in Game 1 before the Cardinals exploded for eight runs in the seventh inning. He finished with 110 pitches, so Kershaw will be coming back on short rest following a full workload.

This also clears the way for Zack Greinke to start on full rest in Game 5, if necessary, meaning the Dodgers could use Kershaw and Greinke in four of the five games.
