Diamondbacks outfielder David Peralta is out of the starting lineup for a third consecutive day as he’s battling a right wrist injury. Nick Piecoro of the Arizona Republic reports that Peralta will visit with Dr. Ron Sheridan, a hand specialist, on Thursday.
Peralta, 28, has been hit in the wrist area three times this season including twice on back-to-back days against the Giants in San Francisco, which led to both teams’ benches emptying.
Though Peralta had played in every game until Monday, he was struggling at the plate. After a hot start, Peralta is hitting .260/.321/.439 as a result of a meager 7-for-33 stretch with six singles and a home run in his last 10 games.
