The Indians placed reliever Andrew Miller on the 10-day disabled list with an external impingement in his left shoulder. Which, I’m no doctor, but that sort of sounds like someone is just holding on to his shoulder or maybe put a chip clip on it or something. Seems like it could fixed pretty easily -- far more easily than an internal impingement -- but again, I must stress my lack of medical expertise here and will defer to actual physicians.
That aside, it’s the third trip to the DL this season for Miller who is not having that great a season even when he’s been healthy. Then again, if you’re on the DL three times it’s possible that you never actually were completely healthy anyway, right? An interesting philosophical question.
The Tribe called up Tyler Olson to to take Miller’s place.
