As was the case yesterday with the NL All-Star voting, it’s too early to really argue about this stuff, but it’s not like that has stopped us before. And given that Derek Freaking Jeter is leading the All-Star voting at shortstop right now, at least some complaining is warranted. Really Yankees fans? Really? Aren’t you more sick of his play right now than anyone?

Anyway, here are the initial vote-leaders in the AL All-Star balloting, with totals in parenthesis:

C: Russell Martin (843,459)
1B: Mark Teixeira (827,247)
2B: Robinson Cano (1,185,952)
3B: Alex Rodriguez (945,127)
SS: Derek Jeter (931,410)
OF: Jose Bautista (1,261,659)
OF: Curtis Granderson (994,315)
OF: Josh Hamilton (748,240)
DH: Michael Young (646,979)
