Astros second baseman Jose Altuve left in the bottom of the sixth inning in last night’s game against the Nationals with neck discomfort. He is considered day-to-day.
He was 1-for-3 before exiting and there was nothing specific that could be seen that led to the discomfort. Altuve said afterward that he’s “not used to having this kind of stuff with my body.” Just wait until you’re 40, dude. You wake up with, like, sucking chest wounds and limbs falling off and just think “huh, that happened somehow.”
Altuve, an MVP candidate, is hitting .357/.418/.564 on the year.
