Josh Hamilton is back in the Rangers’ starting lineup just a little over two weeks removed from surgery to to repair a slight meniscus tear in his left knee.

Hamilton has logged two plate appearances as a pinch-hitter over the past week, but this will be his first time in the starting lineup since way back on August 15. He’s starting in left field and will bat eighth against right-hander Collin McHugh. It should be a good test to prove his readiness for the postseason.

Hamilton, 34, is batting .253/.295/.425 with six home runs and 21 RBI over 42 games this season.
