Matt Holliday’s exit from Sunday’s game against the Royals was curious, given that it was hard to tell when he might have been hurt. But whatever it was that took him out, it’s not a new ailment, according to Joe Strauss of the St. Louis Post-Dispatch:
Holliday was 2-for-3 with a homer when he was removed from today’s game for a pinch-runner. If the Cardinals have to do without him for a bit, they’ll probably go to Allen Craig in left field, opening up more time at first base for Matt Adams. They’re also expected to get Skip Schumaker back from the DL this week to help out.
