Mike Trout fell awkwardly on his left wrist during a diving catch attempt in Sunday afternoon’s series finale against the Rangers and was held out of Tuesday’s series opener versus the Astros.
He’ll sit out again on Wednesday, with newcomer David DeJesus playing center and batting leadoff.
An MRI taken Tuesday ruled out anything serious, but Trout does have a bit of wrist inflammation.
Trout finished 4-for-4 with two homers, three runs scored, and five RBI on Sunday and the 23-year-old MVP frontrunner is batting .315/.405/.632 with 31 home runs and 64 RBI in 97 total games this season for the American League West-leading Halos.
