Doug Fister tossed a complete game shutout and Anthony Rendon hit his 21st home run of the season Friday afternoon as the Nationals downed the Marlins 4-0. In the process, they locked up home field advantage through the NLCS -- should they get there -- by clinching the best record in the National League. They are currently 94-65.
The Nationals will face the winner of the National League Wild Card play-in game between the San Francisco Giants and the Pittsburgh Pirates (or the St. Louis Cardinals, if they lose their lead in the NL Central). The NLDS starts on October 3.
Manager Matt Williams has not announced his official post-season rotation, but according to Adam Kilgore of the Washington Post, it’s looking like Stephen Strasburg followed by Jordan Zimmermann followed by Fister.
