One week after acquiring reliever Xavier Cedeno from the Nationals for cash considerations the Dodgers have traded the left-hander to the Rays for cash considerations.
Cedeno is out of minor-league options, which has played a big part in his being on the move so much because teams can’t send him to Triple-A without passing him through waivers first and ... well, he’s good enough to interest other teams if that happens.
Whether he’s also good enough to stick in the majors as a useful part of a bullpen remains to be seen. Cedeno never even appeared in a game for the Dodgers has just 55 total innings in the majors spread over parts of five seasons. He does, however, have a 2.83 ERA and 154 strikeouts in 123 innings at Triple-A.
