There was not a whole lot of consistency in the Milwaukee Bucks’ rotation this season. In fact, Andrew Bogut, Brandon Jennings, and Carlos Delfino were the only players to play more than 50% of the time for the Bucks this year. The rest of the rotation was filled out with role players (Luc Richard Mbah a Moute, Luke Ridnour), aging veterans (Charlie Bell, Kurt Thomas, Jerry Stackhouse), and guys just there to fill out the roster (Roko Ukic, Primoz Brezec, Royal Ivey).
Bucks fans may hope for more stability in their roster next season, but general manager John Hammond says that won’t be the case. According to the Associated Press, Hammond has stated that the Bucks’ “patchwork” approach to roster-building will continue next season.
Luke Ridnour and Kurt Thomas will both be free agents this summer, but all the money the Bucks still owe to Michael Redd, Dan Gadzuric, and Charlie Bell will prevent them from being major players in free agency. It’s a bit of a shame; with budding stars at both the center and point guard positions and a great coach, Milwaukee could have been a sleeper pick to grab a big free agent this summer. Instead it’s going to be another season of Jennings, Bogut, and whatever John Hammond can piece together.
