George Karl reportedly wants to trade DeMarcus Cousins.
How badly?
The Kings coach would reportedly take Ty Lawson and Kenneth Faried.
Chris Broussard of ESPN on Karl:
Keep in mind, the Nuggets have incentive to inflate Lawson’s and Faried’s trade value.
But Karl’s interest in his former Denver point guard is pretty well established, and the Nuggets have reportedly shopped Lawson to Sacramento. So, there’s at least room for these teams to negotiate.
It’s just that Cousins is worth so much more.
If Karl has this much influence over whether the Kings keep Cousins, something has gone wrong in Sacramento. On a related note, something has probably gone wrong in Sacramento.
It’s gotten so bad, the Kings need Vivek Ranadivé to serve as the voice of reason.
