The Pelicans are 0-6, in jeopardy of seeing their season spiral out of control. Their defense is atrocious. Anthony Davis hasn’t looked like himself.
New Orleans need a savior.
It’ll settle for Jimmer Fredette.
Shams Charania of Yahoo Sports:
Jimmer Fredette, 2nd pick in D-League draft, has signed with the New Orleans Pelicans under hardship exception, league sources tell Yahoo.

The problem isn’t Fredette, though I don’t think he’s the solution.
The problem is that the Pelicans might actually need Fredette, who spent last season with New Orleans.
Jrue Holiday is on a tight minute limit. Norris Cole and Tyreke Evans are injured. Toney Douglas is the backup point guard du jour. The Pelicans are just desperate at point guard (not to mention in the frontcourt with Omer Asik, Quincy Pondexter and Kendrick Perkins also injured – hence the hardship).
I would have preferred someone more capable of setting up Davis, who badly needs better distributors around him. But pickings are slim. When you’re talking about options who ranked behind Nate Robinson, Fredette doesn’t sound so bad.
