David Perron took a small step towards the goals of playing a game with the St. Louis Blues when he practiced with the team today.

Still recovering from a concussion, Perron only joined his mates for one drill, but seemed pleased with the results.

“I felt good and I wanted to try it out with guys moving around me,” he told reporters. “It was good, it went well. The positive part is I’m still progressing, so that means I’m doing better.”

Perron hasn’t played a game for the Blues since Nov. 4, 2010, when he was left severely concussed by a Joe Thornton shoulder to the head.

There’s no timetable for Perron’s return to game action, but at least he’s progressing.

“It’s just one step, there’s many more to go. But it’s good, it felt good,” he said.
