L.A. Kings’ forward Jarret Stoll skated on Friday for the first time since suffering an injury in Game 1 of the Western Conference semifinal series, according to the L.A. Kings Insider.
Stoll was injured after taking a massive open-ice hit from San Jose Sharks forward Raffi Torres. It’s been reported that the injuries are believed to be to the head and shoulder.
“He skated for a few minutes this morning, so you just keep seeing where it goes. It’s not if he fell off the bike because he had a headache or something, then you’re back to square one,” said Kings’ head coach Darryl Sutter on Friday.
“It’s basically, OK, he rode the bike, had a certain heart rate for eight minutes, so it’s really not that big a deal. So this morning he went and skated for 15, so then you just evaluate again tomorrow morning and go from there. So that means there’s still significant, long ways to go.”
Torres was suspended for the remainder of the series.
The Kings, defending Stanley Cup champions, can advance to the Western Conference final for the second time in as many years with a win over the Sharks in Game 6 on Sunday.
