Sporting KC is yet to lose a match at home this season, winning six of nine games at Sporting Park.
On a hot night at Kansas City yesterday, a sprinkler malfunction turned Sporting Park into a water park, as players got an unexpected shower in the 48th minute.

The Rapids were lining up for a free kick near the Sporting box, when all of the sprinklers on the pitch turned on, as referee Baldomero Toledo was forced to stop the game until the issue could be fixed.

As if Dom Dwyer wasn’t hard enough to stop on the attack, he was still a bother to the Rapids defense during the delay.

PST’s Andy Edwards got the inside scoop on the mishap, as a Sporting employee accidentally butt-dialed the sprinkler system from his pocket. For real.

Sporting KC would go on to win the match 2-0, and currently sit in fourth place in the Western Conference.
