We have a full slate of NBA basketball coming up Friday Night. With just about two weeks left of regular season NBA basketball, I will only be wagering on games featuring teams with something significant to play for. Odds powered by PointsBet.
Atlanta Hawks vs. Philadelphia 76ers (-9.5) Total: 220
Atlanta is hoping second time’s the charm, as the Hawks are aiming to rebound from a brutal 44-point blowout loss to the Sixers earlier this week. Some good news for the Hawks, however, is that All-Star guard Trae Young could return to the lineup for Atlanta tonight. That being said, Philadelphia should also have their full team ready to roll for tonight’s contest. Atlanta simply can’t play much worse than they did on Wednesday night. They’re better than what the box score reflects from Wednesday night. I like to back good teams after a blowout loss, and I think Atlanta bounces back tonight, especially if Young returns to the lineup.
Edge: Hawks +9.5
San Antonio Spurs vs. Boston Celtics (-4.5) Total: 219.5
San Antonio travels to Boston tonight in what will be their fourth straight game on the road. It’s been a successful recent stretch for the Spurs, though, winning four of their last six games and currently in possession of the valuable ninth seed in the Western Conference. Boston finds themselves in the sixth seed in the Eastern Conference, barely evading the play-in tournament if the postseason were to begin today. This game tonight is shaping up to be an important one for both the Spurs and Celtics.
Boston is 6-4 SU and ATS over their last 10 games, with Miami hot on their tail in the East playoff picture. Worth noting is that Kemba Walker will be out for Boston tonight. I imagine this will be a very close game down the stretch, and not having Kemba against this hot San Antonio team could ultimately be trouble for the Celtics.
Edge Finder Tip: The Spurs are 1-5 ATS on the road since the All-Star break.
Edge: Spurs +4.5

Portland Trail Blazers vs. Brooklyn Nets (+2.5) Total: 241.5
The Trail Blazers followed up their domination of the Pacers with a big victory against the Grizzlies Wednesday night. So far on this road trip they are 2-0 SU and ATS. They will try to keep it going tonight against the Brooklyn Nets skeleton squad - the Nets will be without Kevin Durant tonight who is resting, and fellow superstar Kyrie Irving is questionable. Even with the Nets possibly missing two of their best players and Portland playing well lately, I have a hard time backing the Trail Blazers with real confidence tonight. If you’re wagering on this game, consider taking a look at the Total number. We could be in for a scoring fest, as the Total on this game opened up at 240.5 and has moved up a full point. I think both these teams should score Over 120 points tonight.
Edge: Over 241.5

Utah Jazz vs. Phoenix Suns (-4.5) Total: 220
Believe it or not, the Suns are gunning for the season sweep of the Utah Jazz tonight when they meet in Phoenix. The Suns are only one game behind Utah for the top seed in the Western Conference, so this matchup tonight is a big one. If Phoenix can win they will take over as the best of the West. The Jazz, who are already down Donovan Mitchell, will not have Mike Conley for tonight’s game. That’s a problem, because the Suns are a scary team to get in front of right now. They are coming off back-to-back wins over two playoff teams in the Knicks and Clippers. Phoenix will be a very public side tonight, but they are worth the risk.
Edge: Suns -4.5
