Georgia quarterback Aaron Murray told the media on Tuesday that he believes star running back Todd Gurley will be “full go” when the Bulldogs take on rival Florida in a couple weekends.
Gurley leads UGA in rushing but has been out the past three weeks with a high ankle sprain that he suffered in the first half of the Bulldog’s win over LSU on Sept. 28.
Without the bruising sophomore, Georgia has been less dynamic in the running game, a situation that worsened when Gurley’s backup, Keith Marshall, was knocked out for the season with an ACL tear against Tennessee. Freshmen J.J. Green and Brendan Douglas have taken over running back duties in the meantime, but they are no Gurley, who has 450 yards and four touchdowns in his four starts and is averaging 6.34 yards per carry.
At the time of his injury, Gurley was arguably the best back in the SEC, if not the country. Getting him back would be just what the doctor ordered for Georgia against the tough Florida front seven.
