After starting the season opener at wide receiver, Xavier Dye was dropped below several receivers on Clemson’s depth chart.
Today, Dye is seeking to get himself dropped from the Tigers football program.
According to head coach Dabo Swinney, Dye has requested to be released from his scholarship so that he can transfer to yet-to-be-determined school. Dye has yet to file the necessary paperwork, so there’s still a chance the junior could change his mind.
Dye had one reception for four yards in the opener, and did not play at all last week in the ACC opener.
