Houston’s mini-wave of offseason dismissals continued on Friday as head coach Kevin Sumlin announced that he had booted yet another player from the football program.
According to the Houston Chronicle, starting right tackle Jarve Dean was dismissed from the team for -- sing it along with me -- an unspecified violation of team policy.
Dean was the anchor of the right side of the Cougars’ line in his first year at Houston, starting all 14 games in 2009 en route to being a second-team All-Conference USA selection.
The senior-to-be is the third player Sumlin has summarily dismissed since the end of the 2009 season, joining freshman special teamer A.J. Dugat and sophomore lineman Ari Tatum.
