Right under our noses, Tennessee has made another addition to its special teams in the form of a graduate transfer
As reported by the Associated Press, Tennessee has made unannounced additions in the form of running back/wide receiver David Abernathy IV, who was signed by then-Bearcats head coach Butch Jones. Nathan Renfro, a graduate transfer from Maryland, has previously joined the Vols’ roster.
Abernathy averaged a hair over 25 yards per kickoff return and compiled nearly 1,500 yards from scrimmage in four years as a Bearcat. Renfro, meanwhile, started three years for the Terps and averaged north of 41 yards per boot in 2014.
Tennessee spokesman Jason Yellin also confirmed to the AP that defensive back Lemond Johnson is no longer on the roster.
