Wyoming head coach Craig Bohl announced Saturday that two players have decided to leave the Cowboys. Citing personal reasons for the departures, Bohl confirmed senior offensive tackle Walker Madden and junior linebacker Devin McKenna each came to the decision to leave the program.
The loss of Madden means Wyoming will be without a linebacker who started 10 games last season, but the Cowboys still have the top three linebackers in total tackles from 2013 coming back this season. Senior Jordan Stanton led the team in total tackles in 2013, senior Mark Nzeocha was third on the team and sophomore Lucas Wacha was fifth on the team in total tackles.
McKenna was a walk-on lineman who joined the team last fall following a transfer from Sacred Heart College in Connecticut. He did not appear in any games for the Cowboys last season.
It is not known at this time if the players are seeking a transfer with the hopes of landing on a new team in time for the fall, although each would have eligibility remaining to do so.
