  • DET Relief Pitcher #87
Tyler Holton will start on Thursday against the Phillies.
Holton will take the ball to open Thursday’s makeup game in Philadelphia. It’s possible he’ll be followed by Reese Olson for a bulk relief appearance, but there’s a chance the Tigers want to save Olson for later this week. He looked extremely sharp last Friday in his major league debut against the White Sox and offers some streaming appeal for fantasy managers in deeper mixed leagues.

  • CIN Third Baseman #3
Jeimer Candelario went 2-for-4 with an RBI in a loss to the Brewers on Saturday.
It’s been quite a month for Candelario, who is now 20-for-56 (.357) with six home runs and 14 RBI in 13 games in June. The 30-year-old will remain a fixture in the Reds’ lineup, even when Noelvi Marte returns, and is looking to continue the progress he showed last year with the Nationals and Cubs. He shouldn’t be on waiver wires anymore.
  • BOS Right Fielder #17
Tyler O’Neill went 2-for-5 with a pair of runs scored and an RBI in Saturday night’s 8-4 victory over the Yankees.
O’Neill opened the scoring in the home half of the first inning with a one-out double off of the Green Monster that plated Jarren Duran from second base. O’Neill then raced around to score on an RBI single off the bat of Connor Wong. The 28-year-old slugger also singled in the second inning and scored on a two-run double by Rafael Devers. He has been productive when in the lineup this season — slashing .253/.348/.500 with 12 homers, 23 RBI and one stolen base.
  • BOS Center Fielder #16
Jarren Duran went 2-for-5 with a double, two runs scored and an RBI as the Red Sox triumphed over the visiting Yankees at Fenway Park on Saturday night.
Duran led off the home half of the first inning with a double and scored the game’s first run on an RBI single off the bat of Tyler O’Neill. He then drove in a run of his own with an RBI single in the eighth inning and scored on an errant pickoff throw. With his two-hit attack, the 27-year-old outfielder is now hitting .275/.345/.467 with five homers, 31 RBI and 15 stolen bases on the season.
  • BOS Relief Pitcher #74
Kenley Jansen picked up his 11th save of the season on Saturday night, recording the final four outs against the Yankees.
Jansen came on to put out a fire in the eighth inning with two men on and two outs with the Red Sox clinging to a two-run advantage. He got Anthony Volpe to fly out to right field to end the threat — then returned to work a perfect ninth inning to close it out. On the season, Jansen now holds a 2.74 ERA, 1.13 WHIP and a 30/11 K/BB ratio (23 innings) to go along with a pair of saves and two victories.
  • BOS Starting Pitcher #64
Cooper Criswell pitched decently in a no-decision against the Yankees on Saturday, allowing two runs on three hits over four frames against the Yankees.
On the plus side, the 27-year-old right-hander punched out six batters on the night while allowing two free passes. All of the damage done against him came in the second inning on a two-run single off the bat of DJ LeMahieu. Criswell got nine whiffs on 88 pitches on the night, registering a strong CSW of 33 percent. He’ll carry a 4.15 ERA, 1.21 WHIP and a 49/13 K/BB ratio (52 innings) into Friday’s matchup against the Reds in Cincinnati.
  • NYY Left Fielder #22
Juan Soto blasted his 18th home run of the season on Saturday, but it wasn’t enough to power the Yankees past the Red Sox in Boston.
Soto victimized Justin Slaten for his 392-foot (105.1 mph EV) solo shot in the seventh inning that pulled the Bombers to within two runs at 5-3. He also drew a pair of walks in the contest, finishing the evening 1-for-3 officially. The 25-year-old superstar has been a monster in his first season with the Yankees — slashing .319/.435/.599 with the aforementioned 18 long balls and 55 RBI.
  • NYY Starting Pitcher #55
Carlos Rodon struggled in Saturday night’s loss to the Red Sox, surrendering five runs on seven hits over his five innings of work.
The 31-year-old southpaw still managed to punch out seven batters on the evening while issuing three free passes. The Red Sox jumped on him in the opening inning, using run-scoring knocks from Tyler O’Neill, Connor Wong and Jaime Westbrook to push three runs across. They added another pair in the second on a two-run double by Rafael Devers. Rodon generated 18 swings and misses on 109 pitches on the night — eight of those on his fastball — while posting a CSW of 28 percent. He’ll look to bounce back as he totes an impressive 3.28 ERA, 1.11 WHIP and an 81/23 K/B ratio (85 innings) into a tough matchup against the Braves on Saturday.
  • MIL Starting Pitcher #46
Bryse Wilson threw 5 1/3 innings as a bulk reliever in a win over the Reds on Saturday, striking out six and walking two.
Wilson didn’t miss many bats with just five whiffs on 33 swings for a 15 percent whiff rate and 27 percent CSW. He didn’t allow an extra-base hit on the day and now carries a 3.84 ERA into a game against the Padres next week. He’ll be more interesting in fantasy leagues if he continues to operate as a bulk reliever, but he’ll still be tough to trust against in that one.
  • CIN Starting Pitcher #41
Andrew Abbott allowed three runs on four hits in five innings in a loss to the Brewers on Saturday.
It wasn’t a poor performance for the left-hander, who walked three and struck out three on the day. As is typical, Abbott didn’t get many whiffs, with just six whiffs on 43 swings for a 14 percent whiff rate and 22 percent CSW. However, he also didn’t allow much hard contact with just an 82.3 mph average exit velocity allowed. He’ll take a 3.42 ERA into a game against the Red Sox next week, and his lack of strikeouts always makes him a bit risky for fantasy.
  • ATL Left Fielder #20
Marcell Ozuna went 3-for-5 with a home run and two RBI in a 9-2 win over the Rays on Saturday.
Another game of Ozuna showing up as the best player for Atlanta. The 33-year-old now has 20 home runs and 62 RBI on the season in what has been a pretty spectacular start to the year. The only downside for fantasy is that he is not eligible at a position in many formats. Everything else has been superb.
