  • TB Right Fielder #43
Harold Ramirez went 1-for-4 with a two-run homer and three RBI in a loss Monday to the Angels.
Ramirez has his first homer of the season with a two-run shot off Matt Moore in the eighth inning. The 29-year-old has gotten off to a bit of a slow start with a slash of .258/.258/.323, but he should continue to mash left-handers; something he’s done throughout his career.
  • CHC Relief Pitcher #48
Cubs activated RHP Daniel Palencia from the 15-day injured list and optioned him to Triple-A Iowa.
The 24-year-old hurler had already been at Triple-A Iowa on a minor league rehab assignment, so he’ll remain there while he continues to hone his craft. Palencia has posted a 6.55 ERA, 1.73 WHIP and a 12/8 K/BB ratio over 11 innings in seven appearances with the Cubs this season.
  • SD Second Baseman #4
Luis Arraez (shoulder) told reporters after Sunday’s game that he was fine and would be in the Padres’ lineup on Monday.
The 27-year-old wizard with the bat suffered a shoulder injury while sliding into second base in the fifth inning on Sunday. It looks like it’s only a minor issue though and not something that is going to keep Arraez out of action. Be sure to check the Padres’ lineup prior to Monday’s battle against the Diamondbacks, but if Arraez has his way he’ll be in there.
  • SF Right Fielder #8
Michael Conforto (hamstring) is tentatively expected to return to the Giants’ lineup for Monday’s series opener against the Diamondbacks in Arizona.
The 31-year-old outfielder played in a pair of minor league rehab games at Triple-A Sacramento over the weekend, going 1-for-5 (.200) with a 1/1 K/BB ratio. He was set to be evaluated on Monday, and as long as everything goes well he’ll be cleared to return. Before landing on the injured list on May 12, Conforto had been hitting .280/.331/.490 with seven homers and 20 RBI in 154 plate appearances.
  • BOS Left Fielder #7
Masataka Yoshida (thumb) is expected to begin a minor league rehab assignment near the end of this week.
Red Sox’ manager Alex Cora told reporters on Sunday that Yoshida has seen considerable improvement and will “hopefully” be ready to begin a minor league rehab assignment before the end of the week. The 30-year-old has been sidelined since the beginning of May due to a strained left thumb. Before landing on the injured list he was hitting .275/.348/.388 with just two homers, 11 RBI and zero stolen bases in 89 plate appearances.
  • SD Starting Pitcher
Robert Murray of Fansided reports that the Padres plan to promote Adam Mazur from Triple-A El Paso to start on Tuesday against the Angels.
The 23-year-old right-hander holds a 3.86 ERA, 1.03 WHIP and a 50/9 K/BB ratio over 51 1/3 innings in 10 starts between Double-A San Antonio and Triple-A El Paso this season. With Yu Darvish and Joe Musgrove both on the injured list, there’s a chance that Mazur could stick around for a bit if he pitches well in Los Angeles on Tuesday.
  • BAL Second Baseman #85
According to Danielle Allentuck of the Baltimore Banner, Connor Norby is on his way to join the Orioles in Toronto.
While nothing has been made official yet, it seems likely that Jorge Mateo will be heading to the 7-day concussion injured list, which would temporarily open up a spot on the roster for Norby. The 23-year-old second baseman doesn’t have much left to prove at the Triple-A level — slashing .286/.374/.510 with nine homers, 36 RBI, seven stolen bases and a 73/27 K/BB ratio in 238 plate appearances at Norfolk this season. Stay tuned.
  • SF Starting Pitcher #67
Giants’ manager Bob Melvin told reporters on Sunday that Keaton Winn (forearm) may not require a minor league rehab start before rejoining the team’s rotation.
With Blake Snell (groin) heading back to the injured list, the Giants have a gaping hole to fill in their rotation and Winn could be ready to fill the void. The 26-year-old right-hander has been shelved since May 15 due to a mild right forearm strain. He was supposed to make at least one rehab start at Triple-A Sacramento, but it sounds like the Giants may need to utilize him at the big league level instead. Either way, expect his pitch count to be limited in his first couple of starts back.
  • ATL Catcher #45
Braves optioned C Chadwick Tromp to Triple-A Gwinnett.
With Travis d’Arnaud and Sean Murphy both healthy, there’s simply no room for Tromp on the big league roster at the moment. Tromp has hit .250/.259/.365 with zero homers and six RBI in 54 plate appearances with the Braves this season. He’ll continue to bide his time at the Triple-A level until he’s needed once more.
  • MIN Second Baseman #47
Twins optioned INF Edouard Julien to Triple-A St. Paul.
As anticipated, the 25-year-old infielder is sent out to make room on the active roster for the return of Royce Lewis on Tuesday. Julien had been mired in quite the slump — slashing just .169/.274/.181 with zero homers, five RBI and a 36/12 K/BB ratio over 95 plate appearances over his last 32 games dating back to April 28. Hopefully playing every day at the Triple-A level is enough to cure what ails him. We haven’t seen the last of Julien in the big leagues this season.
  • TEX Starting Pitcher #22
Jon Gray (groin) is scheduled to face live hitters on Monday.
The Rangers remain hopeful that Gray will only need a minimum stint on the injured list, so there’s a lot riding on Monday’s session. If all goes well there, he could be cleared to return to the rotation later in the week without needing a minor league rehab assignment. The 32-year-old hurler has been sidelined since May 22 due to a right groin strain.
