  • TB Third Baseman #7
José Caballero went 1-for-5 with two RBI in the Rays’ win over the Angels on Tuesday.
Caballero came through in the clutch with a two-out triple in the ninth inning to score Harold Ramirez and Amed Rosario, which tied the game at 3-3 and forced extra innings. Caballero also struck out twice in this one, but has hit safely in all but two of the games he’s appeared in this year.
  • ATL Right Fielder #13
Ronald Acuña Jr. stole two bases and scored a run in a loss to the Mariners on Monday.
After breaking up Bryce Miller’s no-hitter, Acuña swiped second base to get into scoring position, and then took advantage of Seattle not paying attention by getting to third. He scored what looked to be the go-ahead run on a double from Ozzie Albies, but the Mariners were able to score two in the ninth to get the win. With the pair of thefts, Acuña is up to 13 stolen bases in the first month of action.
  • SEA Catcher #18
Mitch Garver hit a walk-off two-run homer to give Seattle a 2-1 win over Atlanta on Monday.
Garver has easily his biggest hit as a member of the Mariners. The 33-year-old DH took a 3-2 offering from AJ Minter deep into the left-field stands with the team trailing by a run in the bottom of the ninth to give Seattle an improbable victory. Garver has been awful in 2024 with a .150 average, but it didn’t matter tonight. It likely won’t matter as long as he can stay healthy; the offensive track-record suggests more good things are coming.
  • ATL Relief Pitcher #33
AJ Minter blew a save by allowing two runs without recording an out Monday against Seattle while picking up a loss.
Minter was handed a one-run lead, and the southpaw allowed a base hit to Jorge Polanco before Mitch Garver took the southpaw deep on a 3-2 pitch to give Seattle the win. Minter has been an excellent high-leverage option for Atlanta, but this one will hurt fantasy managers who have the 30-year-old on the roster.
  • SEA Starting Pitcher #50
Bryce Miller allowed just a run on two hits in seven innings of work with 10 strikeouts, but still took a no-decision against Atlanta on Monday.
Miller was outstanding, as he was perfect through the first five frames before issuing a walk in the sixth. His no-hitter was broken up in the seventh by Ronald Acuna Jr;, and after Acuna Jr. stole second and third base, Ozzie Albies doubled in the go-ahead — and ultimately — winning run. It’s a disappointing ending, but it showed off the swing-and-miss stuff and vastly improved command that he’s shown in 2024. The Seattle rotation is phenomenal. The offense is another thing. Miller will take a 2.04 ERA into his start Sunday against the Astros.
  • ATL Starting Pitcher #54
Max Fried hurled six no-hit innings with seven strikeouts in a no-decision Monday against the Mariners.
Fried did walk two, and unfortunately for the southpaw he needed exactly 100 pitches to get through the six frames. Otherwise there’s a good chance this could’ve been a no-no, as the Mariners were absolutely dominated by the 30-year-old. This comes after Fried was able to get a complete-game shutout, to say he’s pitching well lately is quite the understatement. He has lowered his ERA from 7.71 to 4.02 in the process, and will try and lower it again Sunday against the Dodgers in Los Angeles.
  • MIN First Baseman #30
Carlos Santana smashed a two-run homer on Monday, powering the Twins to a 3-2 victory over the White Sox.
Santana took southpaw Garrett Crochet deep in the second inning for his fourth round-tripper in his last five games after going 20 straight games without a big fly to open the season. The 38-year-old’s recent hot streak is enough to keep his bat in the lineup moving forward, but his on-base skills have eroded to the point that it’s fair to question how much longer he’s going to stick around for Minnesota.
  • MIN Relief Pitcher #56
Caleb Thielbar tossed a scoreless ninth inning on Monday against the White Sox to net his second save of the season.
Thielbar got the call to guard a one-run lead in the final frame once Minnesota took the lead after Brock Stewart and Griffin Jax worked a pair of scoreless frames in a tie ballgame.
  • MIN Starting Pitcher #41
Joe Ryan gave up two runs over six innings on Monday in a no-decision against the White Sox.
Ryan didn’t exactly capitalize on his second straight extremely favorable matchup against Chicago’s struggling lineup, finishing with three strikeouts and only issuing one walk. He finished with only nine swinging strikes and a disastrous 21 percent CSW. The 27-year-old righty has been on a roll, allowing three earned runs or fewer in six consecutive starts to open the 2024 campaign. He’ll carry a strong 3.38 ERA, 1.04 WHIP and 41/5 K/BB ratio across 34 2/3 innings (six starts) into a home outing on Sunday against the Red Sox at Target Field.
  • CWS Starting Pitcher #45
Garrett Crochet struck out seven and allowed two runs over five innings on Monday in a no-decision against the Twins.
Crochet gave up just two hits and only handed out one free pass as a second-inning homer by veteran Carlos Santana accounted for all of the damage against him. He generated 13 swinging strikes and finished with a solid 34 percent CSW. It was a much-needed bounce-back outing for the 24-year-old southpaw after allowing at least five earned runs in three consecutive starts since April 13. He’ll bring a bloated 5.97 ERA, 1.10 WHIP and 47/9 K/BB ratio across 34 2/3 innings (seven starts) into a road matchup on Sunday against the Cardinals at Busch Stadium. The underlying metrics suggest that he’s pitched better than his surface stats, which means fantasy managers should continue keeping him rostered outside of extremely shallow mixed leagues.
  • COL Left Fielder #22
Luke Zahlmann of The Denver Gazette reports that Nolan Jones (back) is likely headed to the injured list.
Jones was removed from Sunday’s game with stiffness in his back. The 25-year-old will be replaced on the roster by prospect Jordan Beck, with the transaction likely announced Tuesday. Jones has been a disappointment this year, and now he’ll miss at least a week while recovering from the back ailment.
