  • SEA Starting Pitcher #50
Bryce Miller allowed five earned runs on five hits, including three homers, across six innings in a loss to the Yankees on Wednesday. He struck out four and walked none.
Aaron Judge and Juan Soto jumped all over Miller in this one accounting for all of his earned runs with three combined homers. Miller was visibly frustrated as the pitches they hit out weren’t even bad: Soto took two sinkers on the edge to left field and Judge golfed a low and away slider into the short porch. This was the type of game you have to tip your cap and move on from. Miller will take a 3.53 ERA into his next start on Monday at home against the Astros.
  • LAD Second Baseman #9
Gavin Lux drove in two runs in a loss Saturday to the Dodgers.
  • KC Shortstop #7
Bobby Witt Jr. stole a base while going 2-for-5 in a victory for the Royals over the Dodgers on Saturday.
  • KC Catcher #1
MJ Melendez hit a grand slam to help the Royals to a 7-2 win over the Dodgers on Saturday.
  • KC Starting Pitcher #42
Seth Lugo gave up two runs in six innings to get a win against the Dodgers on Saturday.
The victory is already the 10th of the season for Lugo. The right-hander allowed a two-run single to Gavin Lux in the fourth, but outside of that he handled the Dodgers lineup without many issues. He scattered six hits allowed while walking just one and striking out four. Lugo has been excellent in 2024, and it’d be a surprise if he wasn’t an All-Star at this point. He’ll face the Rangers next weekend in Texas.
  • MIL Relief Pitcher #29
Trevor Megill closed out a 3-1 win over the Reds for his 12th save of the season.
It wasn’t a flawless inning for Megill, who did allow a walk, a hit, and a run; however, he got the job done. He now has a 2.25 ERA on the season and has been a steadying presence for the Brewers at the end of games. Even though he will lose his job as closer when Devin Williams returns, he’ll remain a valuable reliever for the Brewers and needs to simply be held in fantasy leagues because you’re unlikely to get much trying to trade him away when everybody knows his time accruing saves is coming to a close within the month.
  • MIL Shortstop #3
Joey Ortiz went 1-for-4 with a three-run home run in a win over the Reds on Saturday.
Ortiz has now started two straight games since battling a hamstring injury and looks to be back in his everyday role in Milwaukee. Despite being the least-heralded player in this offseason’s Corbin Burnes trade, Ortiz is proving to be quite an asset for the Brewers with six home runs and 27 RBI to go along with a .281/.381/.472 slash line in 61 games.
  • CIN Third Baseman #3
Jeimer Candelario went 2-for-4 with an RBI in a loss to the Brewers on Saturday.
It’s been quite a month for Candelario, who is now 20-for-56 (.357) with six home runs and 14 RBI in 13 games in June. The 30-year-old will remain a fixture in the Reds’ lineup, even when Noelvi Marte returns, and is looking to continue the progress he showed last year with the Nationals and Cubs. He shouldn’t be on waiver wires anymore.
  • BOS Right Fielder #17
Tyler O’Neill went 2-for-5 with a pair of runs scored and an RBI in Saturday night’s 8-4 victory over the Yankees.
O’Neill opened the scoring in the home half of the first inning with a one-out double off of the Green Monster that plated Jarren Duran from second base. O’Neill then raced around to score on an RBI single off the bat of Connor Wong. The 28-year-old slugger also singled in the second inning and scored on a two-run double by Rafael Devers. He has been productive when in the lineup this season — slashing .253/.348/.500 with 12 homers, 23 RBI and one stolen base.
  • BOS Center Fielder #16
Jarren Duran went 2-for-5 with a double, two runs scored and an RBI as the Red Sox triumphed over the visiting Yankees at Fenway Park on Saturday night.
Duran led off the home half of the first inning with a double and scored the game’s first run on an RBI single off the bat of Tyler O’Neill. He then drove in a run of his own with an RBI single in the eighth inning and scored on an errant pickoff throw. With his two-hit attack, the 27-year-old outfielder is now hitting .275/.345/.467 with five homers, 31 RBI and 15 stolen bases on the season.
  • BOS Relief Pitcher #74
Kenley Jansen picked up his 11th save of the season on Saturday night, recording the final four outs against the Yankees.
Jansen came on to put out a fire in the eighth inning with two men on and two outs with the Red Sox clinging to a two-run advantage. He got Anthony Volpe to fly out to right field to end the threat — then returned to work a perfect ninth inning to close it out. On the season, Jansen now holds a 2.74 ERA, 1.13 WHIP and a 30/11 K/BB ratio (23 innings) to go along with a pair of saves and two victories.
