A true oddity: all AL games feature five in final scores

Chicago White Sox v Seattle Mariners

Too bad it didn’t happen three days ago on 5/5.

All seven American League games Sunday featured one team or the other scoring five runs. The A’s, Rays, Tigers and White Sox all won while scoring five, while the Indians, Rangers and Twins lost with that number of runs.

STATS did the research and said it’s the first time such a thing has happened on a day with a full schedule since Aug. 10, 1993, when all seven National League games featured a team scoring two runs.

Any numerologists out there with any idea of what it all means?

(And we’ll go with Paul Konerko for the pic, in honor of his 5-for-5 day against the Mariners.)
