Barring another setback with his calf injury Andres Torres is slated to return from the disabled list and rejoin the Mets lineup Monday.
Before that happens his minor-league rehab assignment will move from Single-A to Triple-A, with Adam Rubin of ESPN New York reporting that he’ll play for Buffalo tonight and tomorrow.
Torres’ return will likely push center field fill-in Kirk Nieuwenhuis to left field, where there’s an opening because Jason Bay is also on the disabled list with a fractured rib.
