Ken Rosenthal of FOX Sports reports that the Blue Jays are considering making David Price available out of the bullpen in Game 4 of the ALDS against the Rangers. Of course, they would have to beat the Rangers in Game 3 first, as they currently trail 0-2 in the best-of-five series. If the Jays were to make it to a Game 5, Marcus Stroman would likely draw the start.
Rosenthal notes that Price didn’t throw his usual bullpen session on Saturday after the team arrived in Texas. That would suggest that the Blue Jays do indeed intend on utilizing Price out of the bullpen.
R.A. Dickey is slated to start Game 4, but with Price ready behind him, manager John Gibbons likely will have a short leash on the knuckleballer.
