Per Major League Baseball’s Communications Department on Twitter, Dodgers reserve second baseman Chase Utley has been suspended for Games 3 and 4 of the NLDS for his “illegal” takeout slide during Game 2 of the NLDS, which resulted in a fractured fibula for Mets infielder Ruben Tejada.

It’s not known yet if Utley plans to appeal the decision. He would be eligible to play until the appeals process reaches completion. If the two-game suspension holds up, the Dodgers would play a man short.
