Dean Chance has passed away at the age of 74, according to Angels vice president of communications Tim Mead.

Chance made his MLB debut with the Angels in 1961 at age 20 and won the Cy Young Award in 1964 at age 23. He wrapped up an 11-year career in 1971 with an outstanding 2.92 career ERA in 2,147 1/3 total major league frames.

The right-hander was inducted into the Angels Hall of Fame this past August. He’s pictured above, on the far left. That is Tim Salmon at the podium and Mike Witt in the other chair.
