MLB.com’s Bryan Hoch reports that Yankees outfielder Mike Tauchman will miss six to eight weeks with a Grade 2 strain of his left calf. At minimum, he will be out for the remainder of the regular season and a majority of the postseason, depending on how deep the Yankees’ run goes.

Tauchman, 28, suffered the injury in the fourth inning of Sunday night’s game against the Yankees. Per Hoch, manager Aaron Boone said Cameron Maybin, Clint Frazier, and Tyler Wade will see increased playing time with Tauchman on the shelf.

Tauchman has been one of several Yankees to come out of nowhere and put up great numbers in place of an already-injured player. Across 296 plate appearances this season, Tauchman is batting .277/.361/.504 with 13 home runs and 47 RBI.
