Red Sox starter Rick Porcello hasn’t had any talks about a contract extension with his new club and doesn’t expect to, Brian MacPherson of the Providence Journal reports. He is weary of questions pertaining to his contract situation as well.
The Red Sox acquired Porcello from the Tigers in December in the Yoenis Cespedes trade. The 26-year-old right-hander can become a free agent after the season.
Porcello had the best season of his career in 2014, finishing with a 3.43 ERA and a 129/41 K/BB ratio in 204 2/3 innings.
