The Rangers have placed starter Yu Darvish back on the disabled list, retroactive to June 9, due to discomfort in his right shoulder and his neck per Evan Grant of the Dallas Morning News. Pitcher Alex Claudio has been recalled from Triple-A Round Rock.
Darvish was taken out of his most recent start last Wednesday due to shoulder tightness. He was then scratched from his scheduled start on Monday night against the Athletics. If there is any solace, an MRI didn’t reveal any significant damage.
Darvish heads back to the DL with a 2.87 ERA and a 19/6 K/BB ratio in 15 2/3 innings across three starts.
