The Nuggets’ overtime loss to the Warriors on Saturday was overshadowed by a scary moment. Kenneth Faried went down near the end of the game with a neck injury and stayed down for several minutes after the game ended being tended to by trainers, before being carried off on a stretcher and taken to a local hospital.

While we await official word on his injury, he posted an Instagram update that seems to be encouraging:

“I want to thank everyone for the get well soon calls, text, tweets & comments! I’m doing much better a little sore but I’m the Manimal I’m not letting this keep me down & out for long! #UnleashTheManimal

The Nuggets should have an official update on Faried sometime today after he got precautionary x-rays last night, but what Faried says seems to bode well. Considering how scary the injury looked at the time, anything not long-term would be great news for him and for the Nuggets.
