LeBron James scored 38 points in the Heat’s win over the Knicks on Sunday, and J.R. Smith scored 32 while setting an NBA record for three-point field goal attempts in the process.
The battle that was perhaps more expected, one that would include Carmelo Anthony, never materialized due to Anthony’s shoulder injury. He played 44 minutes, but scored just 13 points and didn’t attempt a fourth quarter field goal, saying afterward he felt as if his shooting arm was “dead.”
That left it to James and Smith, and the each had their moments. Highlights of the duel can be seen in the video clip above.
