UPDATE 11:43 am: The Magic have confirmed that Redick had surgery but said it was to repair a torn abdominal muscle, not the sports hernia surgery earlier reported, according to Sam Gardner at Fox Sports Florida.
Still, this is pretty simple as surgeries go. This is supposed to have a recovery time of six weeks, which will have Redick ready to go whenever training camps open.

Orlando Magic sharpshooter J.J. Redick had surgery to repair a sports hernia recently, according to WKMG in Orlando.
Redick missed games at the end of last season for what the team called an abdominal strain, but he did return for the playoffs. Apparently it was a little more than just a strain. Recovery from the surgery usually takes about eight weeks, which would have Redick in shape and ready to go if training camps were to start on time.
