Jonathan Drouin may be holding out, but that doesn’t mean the Bolts are lowering their asking price for his services...just ask the Ottawa Senators.
According to a report in the Ottawa Sun, The Tampa Lightning have asked the Senators for 2015 first round pick Thomas Chabot and another top prospect for Drouin.
As Bruce Garrioch puts it in his story, “the Senators have no interest in getting involved in those kind of talks”.
Ottawa selected Chabot with the 18th overall pick in last June’s Entry Draft.
The 18-year-old is having a solid season in the Quebec League with the Saint John Sea Dogs. He has eight goals, 25 points and 55 penalty minutes in 28 games.
Chabot was also a member of Team Canada’s defense at the World Junior Hockey Championship.

Chabot who played at the world junior championship, is considered to be sure-fire NHLer and it wouldn’t make sense to give up one — or two prospects — for Drouin, who was the No. 3 pick in 2013. Yzerman told reporters Thursday the club isn’t just going to give him away because he wants out.
One thing is clear, if you’re in the Atlantic Division, making a trade for Drouin will be extremely expensive.
