The St. Louis Blues didn’t have the greatest first period, but they came out fired up in the second.
With the game tie 1-1, the Blues got the go-ahead goal from an unlikely source. Dmitrij Jaskin found the back at the 10:31 mark of the second frame to give the Blues the lead.
St. Louis made a number of changes to their lines in Game 5 and Jaskin was one of them. Jaskin was inserted into the Blues’ lineup after being scratched in every game since Apr. 7.
Troy Brouwer extended St. Louis’ lead to 3-1 just over seven minutes later. That’s where we stand after the second period.
